Dr. Mamatha Katikaneni (Dr. K) joined our practice in October of 2020. She graduated from Internal Medicine Residency in 2013 and completed Rheumatology Fellowship in 2015 from LSU Health Sciences Center and School of Medicine in Shreveport, where she was elected as a Chief Resident and Chief Fellow. She worked as an Assistant Professor in Rheumatology at LSU Health School of Medicine for 5 years. She was also the Director of the Musculoskeletal course and was actively involved in training Rheumatology Fellows, Internal Medicine Residents and Medical Students.

Dr. K is board certified in both Rheumatology and Internal Medicine, and is also certified by the International Society of Clinical Densitometry. She has expertise and experience in treating a wide variety of complex autoimmune diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, gout, osteoarthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoporosis, sarcoidosis, inflammatory eye conditions, connective tissue disease related interstitial lung disease, etc. She has been actively involved in promoting awareness regarding autoimmune diseases like lupus through community education and outreach efforts.
